Workcycles GR8

The GR8 (pronounced like "great") is WorkCycles' development of their original FR8, an all purpose child and freight carrier. The GR8 has a slightly shorter frame, but takes all teh same options , racks, childseats, kickstands, as its bigger brother. It is more suitable for shorter people, but the reduced cockpit size makes it less suitable for carrying larger children on the central Child Saddle.

The GR8 is built to withstand the roughest treatment. The 4130 chro-moly frame is rust protected inside and outside, all fittings are extra strong, and the special wheels with fat tyres will take a beating. On the school run it is possible to carry three children. The Child Saddle bolts directly on to the frame behind the handlebars, without interfering with the easy step through frame design. This is ideal for slightly bigger kids. You can carry two smaller children on the extra long rear carrier using standard Dutch style rear kids seat.

As a delivery bike the GR8 is usually equipped with the Massive Rack front carrier. 60 x 40cm Euronorm crates fit perfectly and the load (up to 150kg!) rolls smoothly on and off the integrated parking stand. Various other options are available to suit your personal or corporate needs.

Mens Crossframe +£80.00

Both Fr8 frame types feature a proprietary (and protected) non-radial seat-tube geometry called the “Adaptive Seat Tube”. The handlebar reach and seat tube angle actually vary accordingly with the height of the saddle, following the ergonomic norms of the population. To state it simply: A woman of 160cm feels as comfortable on the Fr8 as a man of 200cm. The Cross frame fits from about 175cm to well, we haven’t yet met a guy too big.

Luggage Racks

Rear Carrier Long +£65.00

Special, long rear carrier that can fit either one child seat and large panniers, or seating for two kids. Mounts for two sets of footrests are built in so you can even invent your own seat system.

City Front Carrier & Hebie kickstand +£110.00

The Fr8 front carriers are solidly affixed to the frame meaning that they don’t turn with the handlebars and front wheel. The frame geometry is also specifically developed for use with its carriers, enabling the Fr8 to handle easily and safely even with very heavy loads. This option includes an extra strong double kickstand.

Massive Rack +£250.00

The Massive Rack is a huge carrier strong enough for any load you dare pedal. A rock-stable and smooth working parking stand folds up behind the front wheel. The carrier surface fits Euro-norm 60 x 40cm boxes and bins perfectly. The Massive Rack was designed for industry and delivery but its also handy and fun for daily transportation if you don’t mind attracting some attention. Carry a couple friends to the pub.

Childsaddle +£80.00

This saddle with foldable footrests mounted behind the handlebar is a great way to carry a child mature enough to hold on securely. You can easily talk with your child and they feel like they’re really riding. The simple frame bolts securely to the front carrier mounts on the down-tube and can be used in combination with a front carrier. How old must a child be to ride on this saddle? Well, that depends on the child and the situation. Some people carry two year olds for short hops but we think that’s too young. On the other hand most four year olds are absolutely secure sitting here. We’ll let you use your judgement.

GMG child seat +£60.00

The GMG 911 is a minimalist rear seat for kids from about 6 years old up to about 35kg. It’s basically just a pad, a backrest and footrests. Either one or two of these seats can be clipped directly into the Fr8 rear carrier. Foot-guards MUST be fitted as well.

Bobike Mini Plus child seat +£75.00

The Mini is the only front seat recomended by Workcycles because its by far the best. Mounting is simple. The Mini fits all FR8 variants except in combination with the Massive Rack. For children from 9 months to 3 years and weighing from 9 to 15 kilos. With a three-point safety belt and safety buckle and adjustable foot support trays. Approved to safety standard EN14344.
